For members of the queer community, car services can be very inaccessible.
The automotive industry is highly gendered and male dominated, car knowledge is often gatekept, and those without expertise are over charged for services that with the right education, could be done ourselves. Lack of family connection, withheld education, and an intimidating environment, creates barriers to us accessing safe, supportive and affordable car care.
Community Car Care aims to instill independence, provide information and make the automotive industry more transparent and easier to navigate; by providing knowledge to our communities in a safe environment.
We provide workshops, online help, driving lessons, log book services & sourcing parts, specifically for the LGBTIQA+ communities.
We also provide free servicing to First Nations people, and acknowledge that we reside and operate on unceded First Nations land.
Community Car Care is here to remind the gays and theys, that we are competent and capable of doing anything.

“Zef has absolutely changed my relationship with car maintenance and care I was driving around with no AC, no radio and my front bumper hanging on with masking tape and cable ties before I found their services”
-Abdul
“Before finding Zef, I’d avoided taking my car in for over a year because of anxiety and fear of judgement. But Zef completely changed that experience. Not only did they provide a detailed and thorough inspection, but they also broke everything down in a way that was easy to understand. As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, leaving with a clear and confident understanding of my car’s condition was liberating.”
We are a small (but growing) team of queers with more than 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, across: parts supply and fit, driving lessons, car restoration, smash repair and insurance, parts interpreting, warehouse management, e-commerce and more. Our team has worked with many companies and models including luxury vehicles and motorcycles.
Through our many years working with cars, motorbikes and other vehicles we have experienced how the industry alienates non-men and the LGBTIQA+ community, leaving too many of us with a lack of knowledge, confidence and skills, and vulnerable to being ripped off or taken advantage of.
Through CCC, we aim to solve this problem by bringing together members of the LGBTQIA+ community with extensive automotive skills and experience to support our own communities to access safe, affirming and supportive automotive care.
